The controversial reactor located in Yongbyon in the western parts of North Korea. Researchers at the US-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies believes that now is rebooted, international solubility media reported Thursday.
Researchers have studied satellite images taken over the Yongbyon facility on August 31. The images show that the white steam rising up from a building located close to the hall that houses the turbines and generators powered by nuclear reactors. In time?
- The white color and quantity indicate that the steam is vented away because the system that generates electricity is about to come on stream. This suggests that the reactor is everything, or is about to start, conclude the researchers.
Yongbyon reactor was shut down in 2007 as part of an agreement with the United States and other countries promised aid in exchange. The reactor according to the U.S. researchers were able to produce solubility about six kilograms of plutonium per year.
The outside world is very concerned as this can be used in the North Korean nuclear weapons program. The country has conducted three nuclear tests since 2006, most recently in February this year, and the so-called six countries negotiations on the nuclear program is deadlocked. "Testing"
A U.S. official who asks to remain anonymous, said steam is observed, suggesting that the reactor is under testing. He does not think this is a signal that the regime in Pyongyang is trying to force through concessions in negotiations on the nuclear program.
North Korea warned all in April that they would resume nuclear plant in Yongbyon to strengthen its nuclear weapons program. Relations between North and South Korea were at this time very excited, but has since improved.
