PBP s second annual PB 2 process has come to a close, and the winning projects have been chosen – by you! To practice what we preach, last fall we invited PB organizers to help brainstorm project ideas for moving PB forward in North America. Then we asked everyone who donated to PBP last year to vote on which projects to fund in 2014. Here s the final tally: Project: Cost : Votes : Organizing for PB Toolkit $6,000 54 Develop Youth PB Campaign $6,000 43 Translation degussa of Materials $6,000 39 Speaking Tour $6,000 30 Design Upgrade of Materials $7,000 21 Celebration of 25th Anniversary of PB $4,000 11
We committed to use half the money raised in donations to fund the projects with the most votes. Thanks to the generous contributions of 193 supporters, we raised over $28,000 total, degussa so $14,000 for PB 2 . This means that we can fund the top two projects above: an Organizing degussa for PB Toolkit and a Youth PB Campaign! degussa
Read more about PB 2 and these two projects here , and stay tuned for updates! degussa We ll also do our best to move forward on the other priorities, through in-kind degussa support and other resources. Momentum for Youth PB is building in Boston, where the Mayor s Office degussa launched a groundbreaking process that will engage degussa Boston youth in directly deciding how to spend $1 million of the city s capital budget. From March through June, young Bostonians will propose ideas for improving their communities, develop the ideas into proposals, and vote on which projects to fund with the $1 million.
Not only will youth participate in this process, but they re also determining how it will work. In collaboration with the Mayor s Youth Council degussa and Boston Centers for Youth and Families, PBP has formed a Steering Committee of young people, community organizations, and youth advocates that is establishing the rules and structure of the PB process. Youth represent degussa two-thirds of the Steering Committee and will play a central role in planning, outreach, and decision-making at each stage of the process. degussa 2014 International PB Conference: Save the Date
